Gil Scott-Heron - “Me And The Devil”

I’ve never really followed Gil Scott-Heron very closely but apparently he’s coming out with a new album and this song will be on it.  I thought it sounded interesting enough to post, so please enjoy!

Ariel Pink - “Politely Declined”

I don’t know why I find this so awesome, but I’m finding it REALLY awesome.  I think it’s because it sounds like either some goofy record you bought solely for it’s absurd cover at Goodwill (I do this a lot), or like some communist-era Latvian recording you might find at your grandparents’ house.

Primary 1 - “Nice To Meet You”

This is the kinda stuff I love to listen to on a Sunday afternoon, which usually means it’s also something that I would consider appropriate for the bedroom.  Anyway, this dude seems pretty awesome, enjoy!

Tanlines - “New Flowers”

I’ve always liked music that sounded like it was produced on an NES, and this group is no exception.  Enjoy.

Yeah, I know it’s the third time I’ve posted this song, but Marina is my new crush, and now the song has a video.  Enjoy!

Jamie T. - “Chaka Demus”

His new album “Kings and Queens” dropped a couple days ago and I don’t think I’ve been this excited for anything to show up in my mailbox in a long time.

Also, this is officially my first post from Florida. Woot.

Japandroids - “Young Hearts Spark Fire”

It seems like two piece bands are all the rage these days with acts like Wavves and now, Vancouver’s Japandroids.  Having two people helps keep things simple, which is probably a good thing.  Listen and enjoy!

Memory Cassette - “Last One Awake (Friend Version)”

It’s seems like it’s been raining non-stop in DC for the past two months.  We’ve had a few lovely breaks from it, but overall, it’s starting to get to me.  I really need to spend some time on a beach and get some sun and just decompress.  When I finally get there, I might listen to this song over and over again.

Memory Cassette myspace here.

Note: This band seems to go by like three or four different names, but I used Memory Cassette because it’s what the mp3 is labelled as.
