Crystal Castles - "Untrust Us"
Another nice downtempo electronic song from Crystal Castles - via a tuneage muxtape
Mason - "Exceeder (Original Mix)"
I’m jotting this one down because I’ve definitely heard this song somewhere before. Good clubby, instrumental euro-trash (a good thing, usuallly). - via the pig
Note To Self: El Perro Del Mar
This is just a reminder to myself to check them out. I’ll probably like them.
Modeselektor - "White Flash (feat. Thom Yorke)"
ambient, downtempo, pleasing
Minotaur Shock
Only got a couple of seconds of these guys, but they sounded like great blips, beeps, and dots downtempo-ish music.
Boys of Scaninavia - "Why Do You Love Me"
Minor chord, techno-dance, indie. - via my favorite piggy
Art Brut - "Nag Nag Nag Nag"
Score another in the “Dave’s Fetish For British Indie” column - via pig radio
Musical Musings: A Hip-Hop Musical Is What The...
So, I’m just going to throw this out there. The world needs a hip-hop musical. Basically, what I’m getting at is a standard musical, but instead of busting into song every 10 minutes, the characters bust out into raps. Yes, oh yes. That would be sweet.
I came upon this idea when somebody I work with who I don’t know that well asked me that standard chit-chat question: ...
Scenario Rock - "Perfect Love Antidote (Bobmo...
Fun pop-house where the chorus repeats “Who’s that girl dressed like a model?” This is super fun music. I think I’m going to get up in my cube and dance. Or at least do the Jersey fist-pump. via pig radio
Update! For the record I did do a little fist-pump in my cube. See?! I’m not a liar. You can check out their myspace hurr.
Franco Battiato - "Summer On A Solitary Beach"
Mello, techno-ish music that reminds me of bossa nova, but isn’t. Sung in Spanish for bonus points. This is good summer music - via pig radio
The Wild Beasts - "The Devil's Crayon"
Great British indie with fairly unique vocals. I’m a fan. You can watch the youtube video here. - via Pitchfork
The Isles - "Summer Loans"
A bit of the Pixies, a bit Weezer perhaps. There’s probably some Cardigans in here somewhere too. Pretty fun. - via Pig Radio
Surfers - "Paradise Island"
mellow, downtempo - via Groove Salad
Funkana - "Follow Me"
Good downtempo with a really cool choral pad - via Groove Salad
Dodgy - "Good Enough"
Cross between Matthew Sweet, Jamiroquai, and some popular band from the late 90’s whose name I can’t recall at the moment. This is definitley Sunday Love-Making music. - via Fresh Air
Foals - "Red Socks Pugie"
Drum ‘n Bass meets Brit-Indie. I think I might be falling in love. This is really good. - via Fresh Air
Fleet Foxes - "Tiger Mountain Pleasant Song"
Singer-songwriter stuff that I’d probably listen to in the fall.
Feist - "I Feel It All (Escort Remix)"
Fun Feist song that sounds like something I’d drive-dance to on a long roadtrip. - via Fresh Air
Two From FreshAir
One song by The Alps was really good, but I didn’t catch the title in time. More brit-indie stuff that I love though. Also, the song “Diamond Hoo Ha Man” by Supergrass is pretty bangin’ - via Fresh Air
CocoRosie - "God Has A Voice, She Speaks Through...
Whoa! I just heard this on PigRadio and I have to say this is nothing like the stuff I’ve heard from CocoRosie before. This song has a strong downtempo backbeat and is quite beautiful. No idea where to get it though. - via Pig Radio
